Two days in Palermo and stars on private jets: Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are planning the "wedding of the year."
Singer Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner, who confirmed their engagement for the summer of 2025, are planning a two-day wedding in Palermo, with other celebrities flying in on private jets. According to the Daily Mail, the couple has already hired a full team of planners and plans to cut corners.
The celebration is planned for early September in Palermo. Guests will reportedly be transported to Turner and Lipa's wedding on private jets, and the event itself will span two days—September 5th to 7th. The local press has already dubbed the event "the wedding of the year," and netizens immediately began comparing it to last year's three-day wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez (who are now being accused of flaunting their wealth): the couple's celebration also took place in Italy. Back then, the celebration cost the billionaire a tidy sum—$46.5–$55.6 million—and local residents even protested the upcoming wedding, not wanting Venice to become a "decoration for oligarchs."
As a reminder, 30-year-old Dua and 36-year-old Callum confirmed their engagement last June, although the first rumors about their engagement appeared back in late 2024. At the time, the singer admitted in an interview with British Vogue: "Yes, we are engaged. I'm very excited. Deciding to grow old together, to spend our lives, to be best friends, is always a special feeling. It's the eternal question of when the right time will be [to have children]. I have to think about whether I can combine motherhood with work, with touring, how much time it will take. I guess it's one of those things that happens naturally when the time is right. I love children, but it's one thing to just love them, and quite another to raise them." Dua also admitted that she loves her diamond engagement ring: "I adore my ring. It captures the essence of me. It's so nice to know that the person you're going to spend your whole life with knows you so well."
Last year, Dua Lipa celebrated her 30th birthday in Ibiza with her fiancé.
