Taylor Swift debuts 'The Fate of Ophelia' live at the Academy Museum Gala

Taylor Swift gave “The Fate of Ophelia” its first live performance Saturday evening at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ sixth annual gala in Los Angeles. The 36-year-old took the stage in a strapless sparkling gown and ran through a set of her biggest hits for one of the most star-packed rooms of the year.
Alongside the chart-topping single, Swift performed “Love Story,” “Blank Space” and “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her original song from “Toy Story 5.”
On the red carpet she channeled Cinderella in a strapless pale blue Dior gown — floor-length, cut from pleated silk and finished with a beaded bow.
A room full of honorees
The well-heeled crowd included this year’s honorees: filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, Oscar nominee Colman Domingo and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Gala co-chairs Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw were also in attendance.
The Academy Museum announced Swift’s slot in an Oct. 8 press release, with director and president Amy Homma calling her “an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world.”
Swift’s last major public appearance came at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in September, where she surpassed Beyoncé to become the most-awarded artist in the show’s history.
