Britney Spears ' father filed a petition to terminate custody of her

69-year-old Jamie Spears, the father of pop diva Britney Spears, has been her guardian since 2008. Then the singer was recognized as partially incapacitated due to an unstable mental state and drug problems. But this year, Britney took decisive action to become free again.

The singer spoke in court, where for the first time she described in detail the conditions in which she had to live all these years, complained of abuse by her father and demanded that custody be revoked.

Jamie Spears later said that he was ready to give up the role of guardian in the future, but did not give a specific time frame. And then he said that the public had turned against him in vain and he deserved praise for his work.

But now, it seems, Britney can finally be happy! It seems that her father has made a decision after all. So, it became known that Jamie Spears filed documents with the Los Angeles Supreme Court to terminate custody of his daughter.

The statement says that "circumstances have changed to such an extent that there may no longer be grounds for maintaining custody," so Britney "has the right to have the court seriously consider" this case. In addition, the documents note that the singer is not required to undergo a psychological examination to terminate custody of her. Recall that in her appeal to the court, Britney just complained about endless sessions with psychologists and demanded to remove custody from her without conducting an examination.

The next court hearing in this case is scheduled for September 29.

Earlier, Britney's father demanded two million dollars in compensation from her for his refusal of guardianship. Britney Spears herself filed a petition for termination of custody this summer, but then the court rejected her petition.

During her testimony in court, the pop star accused her family of lying, strict control and a desire to profit from it. Britney said that a spiral was installed against her will so that she could not get pregnant, and also medical personnel were assigned to her, who were constantly in the singer's house. One of the former guards of the singer also told the press that Britney was given strong drugs, such as lithium, which negatively affected her cognitive abilities.
