Butterfinger's Hulk Green Apple Smash bar spotted ahead of Summer 2027 release

Butterfinger's next limited flavor is a Hulk-sized wildcard, and it has not even reached shelves yet. Food account @markie_devo shared an image this week of what appears to be a new Green Apple Smash bar made in collaboration with Marvel, with Hulk stamped front and center on the wrapper and a Summer 2027 release teased right on the packaging.
The confirmed details stop about there. What the image does show is Butterfinger's classic crunchy, peanut-buttery center traded in for a bright green outer coating. If the name is any guide, that coating brings green apple flavor to the peanut butter crunch — a combination Delish's writer, a self-described "die-hard Marvel guy," admits he cannot picture.
The timing is the strange part
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters this December, and Dunkin is launching its official Doomsday collab in November, right ahead of the premiere. This Butterfinger, however, is marked for Summer 2027, so its Hulk branding appears to be operating on its own Marvel schedule rather than riding the movie wave.
Fans are already Hulk-smashing the comments section with split verdicts. "That sounds unique," one person wrote, floating the idea of chopping the bars up to use on caramel apples. Another was far less convinced, warning that the bar is "probably just as gross as the green apple Fanta."
Plenty more are willing to find out anyway. "I'm definitely gonna try this even though I don't want to," one commenter admitted, while somebody else skipped the deliberation entirely: "Brb puking."
Green bars are not exactly new to the candy aisle. Snickers and Twix both sell Ghoulish Green Halloween versions, but those are seasonal green makeovers rather than true green apple-flavored bars, which makes Butterfinger's move a genuine flavor experiment for its peanut butter center. Visually, the bar reads a little witch-finger-esque, which at least suits something this aggressively green. For Marvel fans who cannot picture green apple near a Butterfinger, the answer arrives next summer.
