Florence Pugh debuts punky baby bangs at the Jaguar Type 01 premiere

Florence Pugh just made the case that the only way into fall is bangs-first. At the world premiere of Jaguar's new Type 01 at STORIED in New York on October 7, she arrived with short, deliberately piecey baby bangs skimming high above her eyebrows and a spiky architectural up-do — the season's fringe trend at its most rebellious.
The look was a team effort. Hairstylist Hyungsun Ju swept Pugh's blonde lengths upward, leaving little loops and spikes poking from the crown, while makeup artist Alex Babsky added precise brows and a sharply defined crimson lip. A lacquered black manicure, a body-skimming black gown with a waistcoat bodice from Patrick McDowell's fall 2026 collection, and Bulgari diamonds finished things off.
The "bangs-ssance" continues
Vogue says Pugh has "entered the chat" in what it calls a bangs-ssance. Dakota Johnson took her signature fringe shorter this fall — and admitted she occasionally takes the scissors to it herself — while Taylor Swift keeps using bangs to telegraph an entire era. Jennifer Lawrence, meanwhile, has bounced from butterfly bangs to a decidedly shorter set. Pugh, naturally, went straight for the version with the most attitude.
Bangs in all their permutations have become one of fall's easiest beauty reset buttons.
The premiere doubled as a brand moment: Pugh was announced as Jaguar's inaugural ambassador for its new era. But the night's real headline was happening several inches above her eyebrows.
This isn't Pugh's first baby bang. At the 2023 Oscars, hairstylist Peter Lux fashioned her ponytail forward into trompe l'oeil micro bangs. Against her current longer hair, though, the new incarnation reads sharper and punkier.
Her glam team has been dealing in extremes on the press tour — a high textured ponytail and then a slick wet-look quiff at Venice, followed by tumbling romantic lengths for the East of Eden premieres. The baby bangs are the boldest punctuation yet, and for anyone eyeing a low-commitment fall refresh, the message is clear: baby is in.
