Shannen Doherty spoke on her podcast about her dismissal from the popular 90s TV series Beverly Hills 90210. Shannen's guest was her co-star Jason Priestley. The actress was fired from the project in 1994 due to constant disruptions in filming: Doherty was constantly late and forced the team to stay late.

The reason, as Doherty said, was in an unsuccessful marriage: at that time she was married to Ashley Hamilton, who was struggling with drug addiction. "I was in a really terrible marriage where things were happening that made it very difficult for me to get to work on time. And I know that became a very big problem for everyone."

While she admits it was her own fault that she was fired, she adds that she would have liked producers to take her aside and discuss these issues. “I understand that this wasn’t anyone’s responsibility, but I would have liked someone to sit down with me and talk to me and say, ‘Look, the end result is that you’re going to get fired, and nothing good will come of it.
