Brad Pitt Wants to Reconcile with Angelina Jolie to Restore Relationship with His Children
Brad Pitt wants to make peace with Angelina Jolie to restore relations with his children after their daughters Shiloh and Vivienne renounced his last name, In Touch Weekly reports, citing insiders.
"Never did Brad imagine this long-term struggle and rivalry. He is ready to throw his hands up and surrender," the source says.
According to him, the couple's children want nothing to do with their father. "The fact that the children have rejected his last name is just the tip of the iceberg."
An insider notes that Brad Pitt regrets putting the fight with the mother of his children first. "Brad spent a lot of time and money trying to do what he thought was right for his kids, but now he's wondering if it was worth it," the insider says, noting that the main reason he wanted to keep the Chateau Miraval winery he's fighting over with his ex-wife was to pass it on to his kids. "Miraval was something his kids could get from him and build their lives on when he's gone. But if they don't want that, it doesn't make sense."
Now the actor regrets everything that happened between him, his ex-wife and children. "He regrets everything that happened and knows he was not a model husband or father during the time they were together." According to the insider, Pitt now does not abuse alcohol and has become a changed person. He hopes that over time, the children will want to renew their relationship with him.
"Brad knows he can't force it, he can't make his kids want to see him. It's going to happen on their terms, but he'll be there when they're ready."
Pitt is taking the breakup with his children hard. The news of Shiloh's announcement to drop his last name was a serious blow to him and "broke his heart." Shiloh's decision came shortly after her younger sister Vivienne also dropped the Pitt name.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children in total: adopted children Maddox, Zahara, and Pax, and biological children Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. The adopted children have not spoken to Pitt for a long time and do not want to have anything to do with him. Pax called his father a "terrible person" on social media who keeps his children in fear and a "world-class asshole," and Zahara performed at college, introducing herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their divorce back in 2016. The actress publicly accused her ex-husband and decided to seek sole custody of the children; legal proceedings between them are still ongoing. The custody issues died down when three of the six children grew up, but the battle for the castle and the Miraval winery continues. Pitt accused Jolie of selling a share in the winery to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler, who is involved in the alcohol business, without his knowledge. Pitt claims that the actress thereby violated the agreement they had concluded, according to which she was supposed to offer him the first to sell the share. Jolie herself claims that they had no such agreement.
