Charmed star Shannen Doherty has died at the age of 54, People reports.

"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away surrounded by loved ones, including her dog Bowie. Her loved ones have requested privacy at this time so that they can grieve in peace," the publication quotes the actress's representative, Leslie Sloan, as saying.

Let us recall that Shannen Doherty had been battling breast cancer since 2015. The actress underwent a mastectomy, as well as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. In 2017, she reported remission, but in 2019, the disease returned. Last year, the star reported that her disease had progressed: the cancer had metastasized to the brain.
