Madonna splits with 28-year-old boyfriend
Madonna, 66, has split from her 28-year-old footballer boyfriend Akeem Morris after several months of dating. According to the Daily Mail, the couple's relationship ended at the end of October.
According to a source close to the singer, the 37-year age difference between the lovers could have been the reason for the breakup. "Madonna faced the same problem with this boyfriend as with all her last men. The age difference became an issue. They belong to different time periods. Madonna thought Akim had a wandering eye, because he did."
The singer herself has not yet commented on the changes in her personal life, and she posted her last photos with her lover on Halloween. Before meeting Madonna, Akim dated Regan Rice for three years, who after their breakup said that her lover left her for the singer and broke her heart.
The romance between Madonna and Akim was first discussed after the singer posted their joint photos on Instagram* in July of this year. In August, the footballer attended the pop icon's birthday in Pompeii, which she celebrated with her children. The lovers also posted candid photos and were not shy about demonstrating their feelings in public.
The star's previous boyfriend was also much younger than her. Shortly before meeting Akim, Madonna broke up with 30-year-old boxer Josh Popper. Before him, she dated 23-year-old model Andrew Darnell, with whom she broke up amid a "crisis of self-confidence" - at that time, the star was especially often criticized for her appearance.
Madonna has had many affairs, including with famous men. The singer was married twice: to actor Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989 and to director Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008. The star is raising six children, four of whom are adopted. Her eldest daughter Lourdes was born in 1996 in a relationship with a little-known actor Carlos Leon, and in 2000 the singer gave birth to a son, Rocco, from her second husband. She and Ritchie adopted their second son, David, in 2005, and after the divorce, Madonna took custody of her daughters Chifundo, Stella, and Esther.
Last year, Madonna was hospitalized and suffered a serious bacterial infection, forcing her to postpone her world tour.
