Criminal case opened in Latvia over violent death of Janis Timma
The Investigative Committee in Latvia has opened a criminal case into the violent death of basketball player Janis Timma, who was found dead in Moscow on December 17. This was stated on his social networks by the athlete's friend and witness in the case, Mark Pugachev.
Pugachev plans to testify against Janis' ex-wife Anna Sedokova, who had previously failed to fly to Riga for the funeral. In his opinion, the singer arranged a contract killing because of four Moscow apartments worth 180 million rubles that Janis had bought.
"I am glad that a criminal case has already been opened in Latvia. We are not standing still. If someone is involved, then the person will be summoned for questioning here, in Latvia. If the person does not arrive, then he will be put on the wanted list, and then on the international wanted list," Mark said.
32-year-old Latvian basketball player Janis Timma was found dead on the night of December 17. He committed suicide on the birthday of his ex-wife Anna Sedokova. After the tragedy, for which many blamed the 42-year-old singer, she admitted that she had been "living in hell" in recent years and also stated that she would "love him forever."
Many of Yanis's close friends spoke out against Sedokova. His former coach claimed that Anna "destroyed" him as an athlete, and his friend Mark Pugachev noted that Timma was "obsessed" with Sedokova. The basketball player's father said that no one was waiting for Anna at the funeral. And his first wife Sana Osha accused the artist of squandering his money.
Anna Sedokova and Janis Timma got married in 2020. A few days before the athlete's death, they officially divorced. The couple did not have children together, but Janis had a son, Christian, from his first wife, with whom he was in court over alimony. Sedokova's seven-year-old son Hector was also close to his stepfather and sent him messages after his death.
