Justin Timberlake's 'tell-all' docuseries will have Janet Jackson discuss the 2004 Super Bowl moment

Justin Timberlake is bringing the most notorious half-second of his career back to the screen. The singer is set to release a four-part "tell-all" docuseries on Apple TV this December, three sources confirmed to Variety, and Janet Jackson will reportedly be there to talk about the 2004 Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction" for what is being billed as the first time.
The series, directed by Fisher Stevens, is still mostly under wraps. Neither Timberlake, Jackson nor Apple would comment, and further details were not available at the time of publication. One source told Variety the project also features Timberlake addressing recent comments from his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
A long, quiet run to this point
Timberlake already has a history with Apple: he starred in the original film "Palmer" for the streamer in 2021. Since then, though, he has kept a low profile. His "Forget Tomorrow" global tour ended in July 2025, just as he announced a Lyme disease diagnosis that he said affected several performances.
"I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme Disease - which I don't say so you feel bad for me - but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes," he wrote at the time.
The tour era was also shadowed by his DWI conviction after a June 2024 arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. Police pulled him over for running a stop sign and veering out of his lane. What followed was one of the more memed moments in recent pop history, though bodycam footage later showed Timberlake's actual words to officers were closer to "I'm on tour" than the widely quoted "This is going to ruin the tour."
What is clear is that December will hand Timberlake his biggest platform in years to tell the story himself - including the part of it that has followed him, and Jackson, for more than two decades.
