Michael Douglas and Scarlett Johansson turned out to be distant relatives
Michael Douglas and Scarlett Johansson turned out to be distant relatives. Douglas found this out on the show "Finding Your Roots": according to the host, they "have the same branches of DNA on four different chromosomes."
The news shocked Michael Douglas. "Are you kidding me? Oh, this is amazing. It's okay. This is great. This is so cool."
It is clarified that the branches of the common DNA of the two actors “come from Scarlett’s maternal line, which is rooted in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe.” The actor himself has Russian roots: his paternal grandparents were Russian Jews who emigrated to America.
"It's incredible. Well, I'm looking forward to seeing Scarlett next time," Douglas joked. The actors had a chance to act together: they worked on the film “Avengers: Endgame” by the Marvel film studio.
Earlier on this show, many stars discovered that they have family ties: earlier, for example, similar DNA was found in Edward Norton and Julia Roberts. And Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, who are close friends, themselves studied their ancestry and found out that they could also be relatives: the actors even planned to do a DNA test.
