Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Daughter Shiloh Officially Drops Father's Last Name
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh, who is the eldest of the ex-spouses' biological children, has officially renounced her father's surname. Now she is called Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
Shiloh tried to do this immediately after her 18th birthday, but due to an error, the documents were not accepted. TMZ clarifies that no official petition was filed in this case, and Shiloh's application was granted on Monday.
As the DailyMail insider notes, the girl carried out the entire procedure herself. "Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for everything herself, so Angie doesn't know anything and can't be held responsible for it."
Insiders previously revealed that Shiloh decided to drop her father's, 60-year-old Brad Pitt's, last name because of "painful events" that have occurred in her life. Most likely, this refers to the infamous fight between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on a plane in 2014, which led to their divorce. On the plane, Pitt allegedly had an argument with one of his children while drunk, and raised his hand to him and Angelina. In the spring, Angelina Jolie also stated that Brad Pitt had been physically abusive toward her even before the fight.
Shiloh's decision to drop his last name was a big blow to Pitt, insiders say. Shiloh wasn't the first of his children to do so: adopted daughter Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie when she entered college, and biological daughter Vivienne, who took part in a musical production, is listed on posters as Vivienne Jolie.
Pitt and Jolie have six children in total, three of whom are adopted: 22-year-old Maddox, 19-year-old Zahara and 20-year-old Pax, and three are biological: 18-year-old Shiloh and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
