Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner take radically different routes to sparkle season in Rome

Sparkle season is officially here, but Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner clearly are not working from the same mood board. Stepping out in Rome this week for an All’s Fair cast reunion at the Bulgari Hotel, the mother-daughter duo both leaned into glitzy party dressing — and landed on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Kardashian went theatrical in a bespoke Erdem spring 2027 look: a collaged dress in black and pink crushed satin, with dramatic cutouts, a sheer lace skirt and suspended crystal flower embellishments that seemed to float across the body. It was peak Kim — the interplay between barely-there skin and extravagant ornamentation she has made her signature.

Jenner, meanwhile, took a tailored and characteristically maximalist route. Her Chanel pre-fall 2026 skirt suit fused two of her long-standing loves: leopard print and serious sparkle. The animal-print two-piece, traced with glittering piping, came with a black crop top, knee-high black leather riding boots and a coordinating Chanel flap bag — plus oversized oval sunglasses and enormous diamond earrings.

Two generations, two designers

The contrast is a tidy summary of how the two approach getting dressed. Kim gravitates toward body-conscious silhouettes and plenty of skin, while Kris has built her look on sharp tailoring, statement accessories and an unapologetic dose of flash. Animal print, notes Vogue, has been a fixture of the matriarch’s wardrobe for years.

Different generations, different houses, and one shared conclusion: when it comes to glitzy party season, neither Kim Kardashian nor Kris Jenner has much interest in subtlety. Where Kim’s look leaned on the cutouts and sheer fabric, Kris’s suit stayed sharp and tailored, letting the leopard print, glittering piping, oversized sunglasses and diamond earrings do the talking.
