Kate Middleton, Prince William and other members of the royal family attended the Memorial Day ceremony

Last week, traditional events were held in London on the occasion of the Memorial Day of the Fallen, which is celebrated on November 11. Yesterday, members of the royal family took part in a solemn ceremony to honor the memory of those killed in military conflicts.

Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker-Bowles and Sophie, Duchess of Wessex, appeared on the balcony of the Ministry of Defense building, and wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph by Princes Charles and William, Princess Anne and Boris Johnson.

95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II canceled her participation in the event at the last moment. The Palace said that she pulled her back. It was supposed to be the Queen's first public appearance after doctors advised her to rest for almost a month after medical examinations in hospital. The Buckingham Palace noted that Elizabeth II was very disappointed that she would have to miss the ceremony, as she considers this event very important.
