New triumph for “Oppenheimer” and not a single award for “Barbie”: BAFTA award winners
The BAFTA Awards ceremony took place in London. The winner this time, as at other awards, was the film “Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan. Emma Stone took the statuette for her role in the black comedy “The Unfortunate,” while Greta Gerwig’s comedy “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, which became the most talked about film of the summer and competed with “Oppenheimer” for the public’s attention, was left without awards. The award organizers were also criticized for the fact that in the In Memory category, which mentions film industry figures who passed away last year, Matthew Perry, who passed away at the end of November last year, was not mentioned. The Academy responded to the accusations and stated that Matthew Perry would receive the award, but at a later date.
