She played young Simba: North West made her theatrical debut in the musical production of “The Lion King”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's eldest daughter, North, made her debut on the theater stage. She played young Simba in a musical production dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the cult animated film “The Lion King.”
The performance took place at the Hollywood Bowl concert hall. It was filmed for a Disney+ special that will be released later this year. In addition to North, the production featured many professional actors, including Heather Headley and Jennifer Hudson, who played in the Broadway musical “The Lion King,” as well as several voice actors who worked on the original cartoon.
North performed the song I Just Can't Wait to Be King in front of the assembled audience. She was supported in the audience by her parents, as well as her siblings, grandmother Kris Jenner and aunt Kourtney with her husband Travis Barker.
Many media outlets write that North’s performance was met with a standing ovation, but on social networks, where videos from the concert soon spread, many criticized the daughter of Kim and Kanye. According to some Internet users, North sings frankly poorly and she is unworthy of performing on a par with famous actors, and they took her into the production only because of her famous surname.
Let's remember that North made her debut in music in 2015, starring in her father's video Only One, and later she performed a verse in the song Talking/Over Again from Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign's joint album, Vultures 1. In March, North announced her upcoming debut album Elementary School Dropout, which has no release date yet.
Recently, 10-year-old North West caused a storm of discussion online due to her French manicure and adult look.
