Kate Middleton reveals new portrait of Prince George to mark his 11th birthday
Today, July 22, Prince George, the eldest son of Kate Middleton and Prince William, turned 11 years old. Traditionally, on the occasion of his birthday, the royal couple published his new portrait on Instagram*.
The portrait was taken by Kate Middleton, who takes many of her family's official photographs. The black-and-white photo shows Prince George smiling and looking straight into the camera. The caption reads: "Happy 11th birthday to Prince George!"
In the comments, many joined in the congratulations, and also noted that he looks a lot like his father Prince William and his uncle Charles Spencer, who was Princess Diana's brother: "Prince George looks so much like his dad", "Handsome young man.. so much like his dad.. happy birthday Prince George, have a wonderful day", "Looks a lot like his dad in this photo. Happy birthday George", "He looks like his uncle Charles Spencer. Charlotte is a copy of her dad", "I think he looks a lot like Spencer". Someone joked that Prince George could now be accepted to Hogwarts, because students were admitted to the school of witchcraft and wizardry where Harry Potter studied at the age of 11.
Prince George is the eldest child of Kate Middleton, 42, and Prince William, 42. The royal couple also has Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Prince George is second in line to the British throne after his father.
Kate Middleton, amid her battle with cancer, recently appeared in public for the first time in a long time: together with her daughter Charlotte, she attended the Wimbledon final. It became known that Kate Middleton had been diagnosed with cancer in March of this year. The princess’s sudden disappearance from the radar gave rise to numerous conspiracy theories: some believed that Kate had fled the palace after catching her husband cheating, others believed that she had undergone plastic surgery, and some even claimed that she had died. However, in mid-June, Kate appeared at the Trooping the Colour parade, dispelling at least some of these rumors.
