'Catwoman' Jocelyn Wildenstein, famous for her plastic surgeries, dies
Socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, known for her plastic surgeries, has died in Paris. This was reported by the Daily Mail, citing 57-year-old designer Lloyd Klein, with whom she was in a relationship.
Some publications write that Jocelyn was 84 years old, but Klein claims that she was 79. In one of her interviews, Wildenstein blamed the confusion on people who mistakenly called her ex-husband's birth date 1940.
Jocelyn died in a Paris hotel room on the evening of December 31. Klein said the cause of death, which occurred in her sleep, was heart failure. According to the Daily Mail, Wildenstein died of a pulmonary embolism. She was last seen with Lloyd: they were walking together in Paris on December 18.
Jocelyn Wildenstein was originally from Switzerland. In the late 1970s, she moved to the United States and became a New York socialite after marrying American businessman Alec Wildenstein, a member of a French dynasty of art and thoroughbred horse dealers. It was the Wildensteins who introduced Picasso to the world as an artist in 1918. Jocelyn had two children during their marriage.
Jocelyn also became famous around the world as the “Catwoman” — a nickname she got because of her passion for plastic surgery. She began experimenting with her appearance in the mid-1980s: Wildenstein decided to undergo a number of interventions to become more like a lioness. Experts believe that she had at least seven facelifts, brow and eyelid lifts, changed the shape of her eyes to a “cat” shape, inserted implants in her cheeks and chin, and changed the shape of her lips.
In total, according to the Daily Mail, she spent about 2 million pounds sterling (approximately 254 million rubles) on surgeries. It is noteworthy that after her divorce from her husband, Wildenstein received 2.5 billion dollars with a ban on spending money on plastic surgery.
