The Cure guitarist Perry Bamount has died.

Perry Bamont, guitarist and keyboardist for the iconic band The Cure, has died at the age of 65. Variety reports this, citing the band's official website.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and bandmate Perry Beamout. He passed away at home on Christmas Day after a short illness. Teddy was a big-hearted man and played a key role in The Cure's history. Our sincere condolences go out to his family. He will be missed," the band said in a statement.
Perry Bamount was born on September 3, 1960, in London. He began his career with the band in 1984 as a guitar technician for frontman Robert Smith, but became a full member in 1990, replacing Roger O'Donnell. He played guitar, six-string bass, and keys on albums such as Wish (1992), Wild Mood Swings (1996), and Bloodflowers (2000). Over 14 years, Perry performed over 400 concerts.
After leaving The Cure in 2005, Bamont joined the band Love Amongst Ruin. He rejoined the band in 2022 and played another 90 concerts, including a massive London performance in 2024 called The Show of a Lost World. The musician was married.
