3 Doors Down frontman and founder Brad Arnold has died.

Brad Arnold, co-founder and vocalist of the renowned American rock band 3 Doors Down, has died at the age of 48. The news was announced on the band's official Instagram* account.
The musician died in his sleep, surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer. Last year, Brad revealed he had been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. "His kindness, humor, and generosity touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Those who were close will remember not only his talent, but also his warmth, humility, faith, and deep love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed," the band said in a statement.
Brad Arnold was born on September 27, 1978, in Escatawp. In 1996, he founded 3 Doors Down with guitarist Matt Roberts and bassist Todd Harrell. Initially, Arnold performed as vocalist and drummer, but later focused solely on vocals and remained the band's frontman until his death.
The band gained widespread recognition thanks to the hit "Kryptonite," which Arnold wrote while still in school at the age of just 15. The song was released as their debut single in 2000 and reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was included on their debut album, The Better Life, which sold approximately 7 million copies. The track, like "When I'm Gone," was nominated for a Grammy Award.
3 Doors Down recorded six studio albums in total, the last in 2016. In 2020, Brad released the single "Wicked Man" as a solo artist. The musician was married.
