New official photos from the upcoming Harry Potter series have been released.

Along with the release of the first teaser trailer for the new Harry Potter series, new official stills featuring the project's main characters have appeared online.
The photo features scenes with Harry himself (Dominic McLaughlin), Severus Snape (Paapa Essiedu), Ron Weasley (Alastair Stout), Hermione Granger (Arabella Stanton), Draco Malfoy (Lox Pratt), Albus Dumbledore (John Lithgow), Minerva McGonagall (Janet McTeer) and family. Dursley.
It's worth noting that after the trailer's release, Essiedu, who replaced Alan Rickman as Snape, said he began receiving death threats: fans of the saga had previously expressed outrage over the casting of a black actor as the Hogwarts professor.
"Every time I log on to social media, I see messages like, 'I'm going to come to your house and kill you.' I hope I'll be okay, but no one should have to deal with that just because of their job. Lots of people really do risk their lives at work. I just play a wizard on a show. And it would be a lie to say it doesn't affect me emotionally. But I don't think prosecuting some 17-year-old for threatening me will fix the situation, so I'm not going to go to the police," he told the Times.
The first season of the HBO series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, will premiere on December 25, 2026 (Christmas Day) on the Max streaming service and will consist of eight episodes. Hans Zimmer is one of the composers, and J.K. Rowling, author of the original book series, is serving as an executive producer.
The creators promise a faithful adaptation of the source material, including details and characters not included in the films (such as Peeves the ghost or Professor Binns's lessons). The first season will also focus more on Harry's life at a regular school and the Malfoy family.
Meanwhile, the casting of the "golden trio" is also being discussed online: the appearance of Harry, Hermione, and Ron has sparked widespread debate online. The main controversy stems from the departure from the familiar characters from the original films and the creators' desire to match the characters' ages as closely as possible to the books.
