"I've never been so proud of my wife." Ryan Reynolds spoke out for the first time about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's sexual harassment trial.

Ryan Reynolds has publicly commented for the first time on his wife, actress Blake Lively,'s sexual assault lawsuit against "It Ends With Us" director Justin Baldoni. On Sunday Sitdown, the actor shared that Lively's current circumstances have only deepened his admiration for her, as reported by Page Six.
"People have no idea what's really going on," Reynolds, 49, said on the show. "I've never been prouder of my wife. And I've never been prouder in my life of a man who has integrity in everything he does." "You really see the illusion behind it all. Digital versus real life," he added.
Ryan's admiring words for Blake Lively came just days after reports surfaced that a years-long legal battle with Justin Baldoni had allegedly "ruined" Lively's Hollywood career. "She [Blake Lively] was never very popular. She had a reputation for being difficult, one of those toxic people who always thinks she's right about everything," Page Six quoted an anonymous Disney source as saying.
It is also reported that Reynolds and Lively are considering moving to the UK so that the actress can "reboot" her career there after the legal proceedings are over.
As a reminder, the conflict between 38-year-old Lively and 42-year-old Baldoni began in late 2024, when the actress filed a lawsuit against the director of the film "It Ends with Us," accusing him of sexual harassment on set. She claimed that Baldoni extended hugs, engaged in inappropriate touching during rehearsals for sex scenes, and questioned her weight, which she, a mother of four, regarded as public "fat-shaming."
During the trial, Baldoni's defense released behind-the-scenes footage and fragments of Lively's personal correspondence with crew members. In one message, the actress ironically referred to the director as "an overly sensitive boy who doesn't understand how business works." These materials seriously undermined Lively's image as a victim, portraying her in the messages as a provocative figure.
Baldoni, in turn, filed a countersuit, accusing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of conspiring to ruin his career. Baldoni also accused the couple of deliberately sowing rumors about his "toxicity" to gain a pretext for removing him from the film.
In early April 2026, the court dismissed Lively's key lawsuit, finding that her allegations lacked sufficient legal basis. Furthermore, the court acknowledged that she acted on the project as an independent partner, not a regular employee, and that some of the director's actions could be part of creative exploration. Previously, the court had dismissed 10 of Blake's 13 claims. However, Lively can still sue on three counts: breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting retaliation.
